If you’re looking for a bite to eat and a taste of some exotic fruits, Mercado Municipal is a must visit in São Paulo. This indoor market is open everyday and offers a large variety of meats, cheeses, wine, fish, sweets, fresh fruits, and overly large sandwiches that are to die for. I really enjoy this market because there is so much to choose from and many interesting foods that I have never came across before (mostly the fruits). The first floor of the market is where all of the stands are located with different vendors and the second floor offers several little restaurants which makes it a nice place to stop for a good lunch. If you like sandwiches and have a big appetite, I would recommend trying the Mortadella sandwich or a pastel. Both are very tasty and filling. The building itself is also really beautiful and has large stained glass windows that add a nice flare. I would definitely say try out this market!
